* (As I write this, Diesel seems to think many of my books (all the free ones...) count as "erotic," when in fact, none of them would be classified as that. Though Herb-Wife does contain some relatively explicit scenes, it's not what I'd call erotica.)

Invitation to contribute to a new anthology

Dear Elizabeth;

I recently edited a reprint anthology of the Ursa Major Award short fiction winners and some finalists, titled The Ursa Major Awards Anthology, published by FurPlanet Publications of Dallas, Texas in a trade paperback edition. This went on sale at Anthrocon 2012 in mid-June. It has already sold well enough that we would like to follow it up with a G- to PG-rated anthology of all-new, or at least unpublished, stories set in Furry authors' established story series, to be published for Anthrocon 2013 next July; and to be tentatively titled What Happens Next; An Anthology of Sequels.

We would like to include a new story set in your Choosaraf/Kintaran series, of 6,000 to 20,000 words. The copyright will be in your name; FurPlanet wants first publication rights only for this anthology.

FurPlanet offers a standard payment of 1/2¢ per word upon publication. You will also receive a contributor's copy of the book, and you will be able to buy additional copies at a 30% discount.

The deadline for first drafts is March 1, 2013. Send drafts by e-mail to me. I will handle the minor stuff myself: correcting spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors. If we have requests or suggestions for more extensive rewrites from you, this will give you a couple more months. (And will give us time to have the story illustrated, if we can afford illustrations. We are still deciding that.)

You may contact FuzzWolf or Teiran at FurPlanet Publications, 5161 Verde Valley Lane, apt. 2207, Dallas, TX 75254, or fuzzwolf@furplanet.com and Teiran@prodigy.net, to verify this or to discuss any details of the planned book. I may be contacted by e.mail at fredpatten@earthlink.net, though if you want a mailing address, it is Fred Patten, c/o Sherrill Patten (my sister), 11113 Moorpark Street, apt. 105, North Hollywood, CA 91602.

If this offer is agreeable to you, we look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes;

Fred Patten
