*chuckle* I know what you mean... I read way too many blogs, too. *sigh* But I am very glad to have provided you with useful data! And yeah, there is way too much... cruft... in Coker's book for someone who hasn't been seduced by Word's bells and whistles.

Just remember, once you get your Word Styles set up, keep your file clean -- don't change styles, don't do "merge changes" or whatnot, etc. Except for setting Styles, being as Luddite as possible with Word is beneficial.

(And if you make a boilerplate file with all the Styles in it that you want, you can just copy and paste that into any other file to get access to those Styles. I forget how to add new Styles to the default Normal Template that Word does, but that's the lazy way that's served me well.)

Now, go write a sentence... *grin*

(And please excuse my slightly random babbling. It's a little late for me and I'm on little sleep, so I'm manic.)
