An interesting Kindle error, corrected.
Mar. 16th, 2011 06:31 pmThere is apparently an incompatibility between Word-for-Mac documents, and the Kindle's converter. Uploading the file produces an odd error for very short lines, such that the HTML generated (as Kindle helpfully generates so you can look at the code!) turns "p class" to "div class."
With great tearing of hair, I searched my document for the source of these strange paragraphing errors, till my helpful spouse found the reports from someone else. It's not my document. It's the conversion process when it encounters a Word for the Mac document.
So I took the HTML that was generated, corrected the errors in the code, zipped it up with the image files it needed, and re-submitted. And that has fixed the errors. And I can plan around this in the future.
